Stay in an unusual cabin on the Ile d’Oléron
CABANE IØ is an emblematic cabin of the island’s oyster-farming heritage, harmoniously combining traditional camping with comfort and authenticity.
This charming cabin fully meets our objective of offering you greener, more eco-friendly accommodation that’s also comfortable and well-equipped. In fact, it was built using ecological materials by local suppliersin Charente Maritime, 13 km from Le Maine campsite.
The interior design is carefully crafted from untreated wood, allowing La cabane IØ to be entirely to stay all year round. It is equipped for sleeping, cooking and eating.
Even if another small cabin adjoining your unusual accommodation has a toilet and washbasin,you’ll still find the pleasures of traditional camping for showers and the like. The sanitary facilities are open 24 hours a day, and include a baby corner with a special bathtub and changing table, as well as a children’s toilet.
Ideal for overnight stays and short breaks or more, the IØ cabin is specially designed to accommodate 2 people with a baby or child under 7, and the pitch is large enough to accommodate your 2-wheeled motorbike or bicycle, a car and a small extra tent for 1 person.
Ideal for a night on the Ile d’Oléron, a weekend, short stays – or more, if you need several accommodations such as a mobile home or other unusual ones – our typical oyster-farmers’ hut can be adapted to suit you solo, with friends, lovers or family.

Set up on 2 side-by-side pitches, you can choose to rent :
- The MaKev’illo sur Pilotis: take a step up with our MaKev’illo sur pilotis (approx. 2m high), accessible by a wooden staircase, with its terrace overlooking the flora and fauna of the Ile d’Oléron, an opportunity to wake up to the beauty of a sunrise over the biodiversity of the Ile d’Oléron.
- or the MaKev’illo “cow’s floor”; this 2nd MaKev’illo tent is also on a wooden floor, but at the height of 2 steps, and opens onto the nature of the Ile d’Oléron.
or both for authentic evenings and a unique awakening to the Oleron landscape.

A genuine eco-friendly cottage measuring 14 m² with a 7 m² mezzanine designed to accommodate up to 4/5 people. Designed in an eco-responsible way using bio-resourced materials, the Tiny is essentially made of wood and blends into the natural surroundings of the Ile d’Oléron.
Unusual, comfortable and with an adventurous soul, it’s the perfect choice for your quest for green, responsible tourism. Our Tiny was designed and built by a company in a neighboring department of Charente-Maritime, in line with our concern to limit transport time and CO2 emissions. It will charm you with its interior and exterior design:
- The interior layout is highly optimized and very pleasant in all seasons, offering a beautiful, luminous space with large bay windows opening onto the wooden terrace,
- a little cocoon for autumn and winter; an authentic little house open to nature on sunny days.

Le Maine campsite offers a wide range of opening hours to enable you to come to Charente-Maritime. The Tiny can be adapted to your every need for a weekend, a week or more, and can be rented very flexibly by the night or for 2 nights or more in high season.
